Full Time Assistant Coach NIU

ASSISTANT COACH, WRESTLING

Northern Illinois University is accepting applications for the position of Assistant Coach for Wrestling. This is a full-time, 12 month position with benefits. This person will assist the head coach in the organization, management, and coaching of a NCAA Division I wrestling team, in conjunction with other department responsibilities.

Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree
• Ability to demonstrate wrestling skills, match and training strategies, plus teaching progressions.
• Ability to recruit and retain quality student-athletes including knowledge of junior clubs and high school programs.
• Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
• Ability to effectively communicate through oral, written and electronic forms.
• Minimum one academic year coaching experience at the collegiate level.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Master’s degree
• Experience as an assistant wrestling coach at the Division I level, or head coach at the Division II or Division III level.
