CA-Bay Area HS Coaches Wanted

The Menlo-Atherton High School (30 minutes south of San Francisco, 3 minutes from Palo Alto) wrestling team experienced tremendous growth this year. The team had one of its most successful seasons in M-A history and earned 12 league placements, advanced 3 to the state competition, and earned 2 state placements.

The team has a dedicated wrestling room, brand new 42'x'42 Resilite mat, dedicated lockers, access to a recently renovated weight room. Most importantly, the program has tremendous support from administration and parents.

Due to this growth we are looking to expand our coaching staff in both Head Coach and Assistant Coach capacities:

Responsibilities:
-Create and execute instructional lesson plans
-Execute strength and conditioning plans
-Develop student-athlete competence and confidence
-Enforce team policies, beliefs, philosophies in sportsmanship, integrity, accountability, perseverance
-Some administrative work: Managing track wrestling / rosters / registration, monitoring attendance, confirming transportation, inventory management, mat & mat-room maintenance

Requirements:
-A strong desire to develop student-athletes. Help improve their athletic abilities and support their academic aspirations
-A passion for teaching the sport of wrestling
-Patience
-Initiative
-A strong desire to engage with the community and be a wrestling ambassador
-Excellent Communication Skills
-High School wrestling experience
-Wresting coaching experience

Candidates with any of the following will be given priority:
-Availability: November - February 5 days a week, Monday to Friday and some Saturdays for some tournament coverage. Preferably from 3:15pm-5:30pm or alternatively from 5:00pm-7:00pm, 3:15pm-5:30pm preferred.
-Background in: Nutrition, Kinesiology, Child Psychology, or Education
-Experience: College wrestling or College Club experience
-USA Wrestling Bronze Certificate or higher for Coaching
