Bird to Liberty

Gabriel Bird, a senior at Osceola High School in Florida, has verbally committed to attend and compete at Liberty University for Coach Jesse Castro beginning in the fall.

Bird, a four-time Florida state placewinner and 2008 USA Wrestling Junior National freestyle All-American, made the decision after his recent recruiting visit to Liberty. Bird finished fifth at the Super 32 in October and won the POWERade Christmas Tournament this past December. He is currenlty 45-0 at 145 pounds. He is a 3.5/4.0 student and looks forward to the Christian-based education he will receive at Liberty. He is projected at 149 or 157 pounds in college.
